If you are a sole practitioner having started on level 2 surveys where do you go to get that all important day to day help to move you to level 3. With a more stringent duty of care, referring clients to other specialists does not meet the professional standard required. Many competent level 2 surveyors have found out to their cost that level 3 is not just a quick route to higher fees.
I have been in the construction industry for over 35 years, in practice over 16 and teaching and lecturing for 8. My mentoring is not about academic study it is about how to mould your skills and develop pathways to confident conclusions. We start by looking at some of your surveys and giving you guidance on content, clarity, conclusion structure and legal risks. From there you can enrole on the mentorship scheme for one on one sessions at intervals to suit you.

Starting from a carpentry background, I went on to graduate from Reading University with a first-class honours degree in Building Surveying and being chartered into the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) in 1997. I was awarded the Fellowship in 2010 for the research and publication of my book “Residential Building Defects”.
As a Senior Building Surveyor and board member of the RICS I am often called to Chair local institution events and give lectures in my specialism of defects in period properties. I believe that independence, integrity and local expert knowledge are vital when selecting experts on your home buying journey.

Residential Surveyors post qualification who undertaking residential building surveys at level 2 looking to move through to level 3. My mentoring suits those running practices looking for support on time management, customer care, claims management and marketing.
How is mentoring delivered?
Mentoring sessions are delivered on line in 1-hour time slots booked on Fridays through the Calendly link below. This is a pay as you go service, there is no need for a subscription. You can leave a note on what you might like to talk about or have reviewed.
